Cheryl Space, a children’s librarian at Providence Public, recently adopted a daughter from Ethiopia. While she was there she visited a children’s library and talked with the director. The library is part of the Ethiopia Reads project. They plan to start 100 school libraries by 2010 and train librarians to run them.
Cheryl is raising funds to train librarians. She and three other librarians are going over in July to assist the educational team in the training of librarians. You can help in two ways. You can buy coffee at $11.50 per 12 oz bag or you can make a donation. There is Ethiopian coffee and also flavored coffees in beans or ground. I have the order form and donation forms if you are interested. I have to turn everything into Cheryl by Feb. 22.

Thanks, Susan L.
